Abstract

The article discusses the importance of hospitality in society and the Church, particularly towards migrants and refugees. Since the early days of Christianity, hospitality has been regarded as a virtue and a way to practice mercy. It mentions biblical and historical examples where hospitality was practiced within the Christian community. Hospitality is an expression of solidarity and communion within the Christian community, providing an opportunity to strengthen personal relationships with Jesus. The article concludes by affirming that hospitality is a way to demonstrate God's love and mercy to others.

Author Biography

Ryszard Hajduk, Universidad de Warmia-Mazury

A religious priest of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer (Redemptorists), he was born in 1966 and is a professor of Practical Theology in the Theology Department at the University of Warmia-Mazury, Poland. In 1995, he earned his doctorate in Pastoral Theology and Homiletics from the University of Würzburg, Germany. He also collaborates with the Redemptorist Seminary in Tuchów (Poland) and with the "San Pablo" Faculty of Theology in Cochabamba (Bolivia). He has authored more than a dozen books and numerous articles published in Poland and other countries
