Abstract

The Christian calendar is considered in terms of the meaning and hope it brings to the present by recalling the past and pointing to a transcendent future. Some necessary renovations in liturgical pastoral care are pointed out so that this meaning is fuller despite the distractions and anxieties of our world.

Author Biography

Luis Palomera, Universidad Católica Boliviana

Doctor in Theology, liturgist, and Jesuit from Barcelona. He has been a professor at the Higher Institute of Theological Studies, which later became the Faculty of Theology "San Pablo" at the Catholic University of Bolivia, Cochabamba, for over 40 years; he is currently retired.
