Abstract

One of the central proposals of Pope Francis's teaching is presented: joy as a force for evangelization. A brief overview of some central texts of the Bible is provided, which present the image of God in His infinite goodness desiring our happiness. The promise is fulfilled with the arrival of the Messiah, who announces the Good News that conveys the joy of the Kingdom until reaching the paradox of the Cross. Finally, the theme of joy is revisited in three exhortations of Pope Francis: Evangelii Gaudium, Amoris laetitiae, and Gaudete et exsultate.
