Abstract

Liturgy and synodality are aspects of ecclesial life that presuppose community and active participation on the part of all the baptized. The liturgical reform of the Second Vatican Council has borne much fruit, but there is still resistance to its reception due to a lack of understanding of the ecclesial subject of the liturgy and the persistence of a certain clerical focus. The formation of all the People of God in the liturgy is key, as Pope Francis expressed in his Apostolic Letter Desiderio desideravi. A synodal liturgy strengthens synodality in the life and mission of the Church.

Author Biography

Guillermo Rosas Diaz, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile

Guillermo Rosas Diaz is a priest of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts. A Chilean national, he holds a Doctorate in Sacred Liturgy from the Pontifical Atheneum of Saint Anselm in Rome. He has dedicated many years to the teaching, promotion, and study of liturgy, collaborating with various universities and formative bodies within the Church, such as CELAM and the Chilean Association of Liturgists. He participates in several international and interdisciplinary research networks. He has extensive experience in youth ministry within schools and universities, and accompanies the Pastoral Care for Sexual Diversity in Santiago, Chile.
