Abstract

This text presents the theme of migration from a biblical perspective, highlighting the dignity of eachperson and the unity of humanity in the eyes of God. It considers how the climate crisis exacerbatesthe phenomenon of migration, based on various studies and the teachings of Pope Francis. ThePastoral Guidelines on Climate Displaced People from the Dicastery for Promoting Integral HumanDevelopment promote welcoming those forced to leave their homes and lands into a true common home, offering them protection and social integration, based on mercy, justice, and solidarity.

Author Biography

María Marcela Villares, Universidad Católica Santiago del Estero, Argentina

María Marcela Villares holds a Bachelor's Degree in Education from the National University of Quilmes, Argentina, and a Degree in Educational Sciences from the Catholic University of Santiago del Estero, Argentina. She has trained extensively in the field of human trafficking and teaches courses on the subject. She collaborates with the bishops of the Episcopal Commission for Migrants and Itinerants of the Argentine Episcopal Conference, as well as in the Pastoral Care for Tourism and Human Trafficking. She is a member of the "No to Human Trafficking" Team of the National Commission for Justice and Peace, and the Clamor Network of CELAM. She participated in the first International Conference on Human Trafficking held at the Vatican in April 2019. She is the author of several articles and co-author of educational booklets for children on the topic.
