Abstract

The article focuses on the reflection on the penitential crisis and mercy in the Catholic Church. It analyzes the practice of the sacrament of confession in both its individual and communal forms, highlighting the values that communal reconciliation holds over individual confession. The author points out the potential dangers associated with communal celebrations and offers valuable guidance for their implementation. The Ritual provides suggestions for renewing the practice of confession and reconciliation in the Church, and the author expresses hope that the Church will adopt communal celebration as the normal and ordinary penitential form. The importance of the Word of God and the authentic liturgical celebration in the practice of the sacrament of confession is also emphasized.
