Abstract

The article examines biblical revelation and its relationship to the theme of divine mercy. The author explains how throughout the Bible, the faithful are invited to be merciful, emphasizing God's ever-present initiative. Additionally, the author highlights certain issues in the Old Testament and how mercy is revealed in Jesus Christ. The text delves into the idea that mercy not only involves doing good but also restraining evil when necessary, and it concludes by exploring the importance of the cross.

Author Biography

Nelson Medina Ferrer, Universidad de Santo Tomás de Aquino

Fray Nelson Medina, O.P., was born on May 13, 1965, in Bogotá, Colombia, to Bernardino and Maruja. He is the third of four siblings, all of whom attended the Santo Tomás School run by the Dominicans in the capital city. A diligent student, he represented Colombia in the International Mathematical Olympiads in 1981 (United States) and 1982 (Hungary). After finishing secondary school, he pursued studies in Pure Physics at the National University of Colombia.
