Abstract

The Passion of Christ in Mark’s Gospel shows a Jesus who suffers, and unjustly so. The evangelist presents a suffering Jesus, but one who is very much given over into the hands of his Father. Suffering, pain and death are part of our existence, and coming to terms with these realities invites us to see them as Jesus did, that is, in a different way. Jesus is the Son of God, who reveals to us the way in the face of concrete life situations such as these inherent human experiences.
